The dignity of using the bathroom yourself. If you have trouble standing from a seated position and don't want to get stuck on the toilet, a Dignity Lift is the perfect solution. With the push of a button, this lift brings you to your feet with a slow and steady lift so you don't need to call for help.
Did you know that most injuries in the home occur in the bathroom? It is a frequent place for falls and for getting stuck. The Dignity Lift Can Help
The Dignity Lift will work in most bathrooms. With a width of 23 7/8" and a depth of 21", it will fit in the toilet nook of even the smallest bathrooms. The Dignity Lift can be used with toilets with bowl heights of 14 inches up to 18 inches with adjustable/removable legs. It includes a charger plug and a backup battery. If you have a power outlet near your toilet, you can keep it plugged in all the time and the back up battery will be there for you in case of a power failure. If you don't have an outlet, don't worry! The rechargeable battery needs to be recharged only every 30 days or so. The battery in the Dignity Lift lift will last a long time. In actual use, a 280 lb. patient used his lift 210 full cycles on a charge and a 150 lb. patient used his 300 times before recharging. A commode pan is also included if you need to use the lift at bedside instead of in the bathroom.
The Dignity Lift also works for most people with a user weight capacity of 300 lbs. and a seat width of 19 1/2 inches. The dignity lift raises you up 14 inches from a seated position (measured at the rear of the seat) to put you back on your feet safely. It takes about 20 seconds to go from bottom to top and it travels the same safe speed going down. This steady pace avoids light-headedness and allows your legs to loosen up if they became stiff from sitting.
Cleaning the Dignity Lift is easy. First there is an easy to clean seat. Second is the "chute" design that ensures that all fluids and solids end up in the toilet bowl. The chute is sized to fit into standard toilets and it easily fits into elongated bowl toilets as well.
Installing a Dignity Lift is as easy as removing your current toilet seat and putting the Dignity Lift in its place. The lift is a bit heavy for stability so make sure your installer can life 50 pounds. If you want to read the assembly instructions, click here. You can also watch assembly videos here.
